INTRODUCTION

Bátor Tábor is more than a camp. Our mission is to help seriously ill children and their families return to life. Bátor Tábor Foundation is the only Central European member of the Serious Fun Children Network, founded by the Oscar winner actor, Paul Newman in 1988. Today there are 16 independent similar camps operating all around the world. Following his original concept we change life of Czech, Slovak, Polish and Hungarian kids living with cancer or other chronical diseases together with their families through therapeutic programs in hospitals, camps and schools. Our regional campsite is in Hatvan, Hungary, where we’ve received more than 10.000 campers in the past 20 years. We focus on families, not forgetting healthy siblings or parents. All of our programs are free of charge and build to (re)develop crucial life skills.

The idea of a Bátor Tábor Charity Contemporary Art Auction was born in Budapest in 2005. Since that time this charity event is one of our biggest source to cover the expenses of our programs and means a win-win event for all participants being:

  • a successful fundraising opportunity for Bátor Tábor
  • prestige and acknowledgement for participating artists, who have been selected by a professionally approved jury
  • guarantee of real art quality for philanthropic and art-loving audience

Based on our experiences and inspired by the success of the Hungarian Auction, we started to organize similar events also in Warsaw (2013) and Bratislava (2018). 2021 was an important milestone in our history: Prague became a part of our Auction Family, Bátor Tábor organized Charity Contemporary Art Auctions in all 4 countries, from where seriously ill kids arrive to our camp.

Our auctions in all countries are supported by independent leading auction houses and run by top auctioneers. The key of our success is the personal commitment of all parties involved, that we are very proud of and can’t be enough grateful to all our wonderful supporters.
